Description

FJ Cruiser Overland Rack

The FJ Cruiser Overland Rack was made to replace your old stock roof rack (or lack of rack) and make your vehicle more capable. The low-profile not only looks sleek, it also keeps your center of gravity lower when out on the trail. Not to mention how much usable room is now on the top of your FJ with the rack.

Why we built the FJ Cruiser Overland Rack

Truth is, we hated the stock rack that came on FJ Cruisers. It looked nice but that was about it. The weird U shape paired with the curvy outline made mounting anything impossible… and whatever you did mount ended up being too high. After running a tent on the stock rack for years, we knew we had to make something better. That is where the FJ Cruiser Overland Rack came into play. It fixed all the issues we saw while increasing the look of the FJ.

All rack components are made from 3/16″ aluminum (besides the roof mounts which are steel) and offer the best in weight efficiency and strength.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1.) Where Are We Manufacturing This Roof Rack?

Answer: We manufacture this roof rack in SE Pennsylvania. We buy hardware in the US as well, but sometimes our suppliers source it from overseas. We purchase the raw steel and aluminum in the US. Powder coating is also completed right here in SE Pennsylvania.

2.) Which Extrusion Color Should I Choose?

Answer: In short, that is completely up to you. There is no difference in build or quality between the two colors, both will function the same.

3.) How Much Weight Can I Install On The Baja Roof?

Answer: This is going to depend on your end uses. We recommend keeping the rack to 600 pounds or less in dynamic positions. Can you load it with more? Sure. But keep in mind: the more weight you have up high, the higher the probability of a rollover. If you are doing off-roading, rock crawling, or trails, keep the roof top load to 300-400 pounds or less. If you are static and level, you can load more on. We recommend NEVER exceeding 800 pounds spread out across the rack. The rack itself can handle much, much more. Your FJ? Likely not.

4.) How Much Does The Roof Rack Weigh?

Answer: It comes in around 47lbs., which is super light. Since the FJ Cruiser Overland Rack is made out of 3/16″ aluminum (mounts are made from steel), it is an extremely light and rigid setup that is extremely capable.

5.) What Goes Into Installing The FJ Cruiser Overland Rack?

Answer: In short, you need to take off your existing roof rack, install the mounts for your new rack, build the roof rack on the ground and then lift up to tighten in place. It is a pretty simple afternoon install. We do recommend having 2 people as the easiest way to install is by putting the rack together on the ground first.
